Your wedding registry is a humble list of housewarming cookware and trinkets. It's a simple wedding, there's no reason to inconvenience your family with a lavish registry of exuberant home decor. Let's face it, you're giving out personalized tote bags as bridesmaid gifts (which is an appropriate amount of money for a bridesmaid gift) and there is no reason to expect anything more in return.
But every now and then, you feel a twinge of self-indulgence. What would it be like to forget about budgets and just ask for the most extravagant of wedding gifts. But who would actually do that?
Celebrities. That's who.
Do you ever wonder what the rich and famous ask for on their registry? What do you get for the person that has everything? Well, here's a clue. The Daily Beast gave WeddingStand an inside scoop on what our favorite celebrities are registering for in 2009.
Wedding Registries for Celebrities
Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner (October 25, 2009)
The prince and princess of New York real estate have access to almost anything in the world - so why not ask for the good stuff from the Trump's good friend Tiffany. The happy couple's Tiffany wedding registry shows they asked for a simple Scalloped footed bowl in sterling silver with a not so simple $1,350 price tag.
Looking for something a little more reasonable with some Trump-worthy classiness, try the couple's Williams-Sonoma registry list. The couple asked for an affordable $29.95 veggie chop and $7 silicone spatulas.
Christina Hendricks and Geoffrey Arend (October 11, 2009)
This Mad Men mistress and her new hubby registered for a seven-piece bar tool set priced at $49.95 from Sur La Table. Looks like those raging cocktail breaks aren't only for the film set.
If you want to follow in her vintage style, check out WeddingStand's guide to Mad Men Your Wedding. While you're at it, set up your girls from the office with a personalized flask as bridesmaid gifts.
Jason Schwartzman and Brady Cunningham (July 11, 2009)
When Jason isn't boring us to death with his new television show (but seriously, not a play on words), he's trying to burn down the kitchen with All-Clad cookware from Williams-Sonoma. Check out the couple's full wedding registry list at Williams-Sonoma.
Kendra Wilkinson and Hank Baskett (June 27, 2009)
Even though Kendra hopped away from the bed of bunnies, she still has expensive taste and the Playboy party spirit. Her new husband, Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Hank Baskett, and her registered for an extravagant list of gifts, including the Margaritaville Key West Frozen Concoction Maker for $329.99 at Macy's. When they get wasted away in Margaretaville, they can turn to their steamy Towel Spa Towel Warmer for $59.99.
Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt (April 25, 2009)
You're in luck. This "perfectly normal, perfectly healthy" couple still has a few unclaimed gifts on their Bloomingdale's registry. Make Heidi and Spencer an even more stable couple with a Kate Spade dish set, or you can make the rest of the world happy by going off list with a Silver-Plated Shaving Set with Mach3 Razor. We'll just have to find something else to come up for the search term 'creepy flesh colored beard'.
