Delicious Details on Heidi and Spencer

No Chapel. No Bridesmaid Gifts. Not Even a Father-Daughter Dance. What Happened to Heidi?

Every fan of The Hills watched Heidi Montag's fairy tale wedding plans unravel. Ms. Montag picked out a beautiful gown and had a chapel and bridesmaid gifts for Lauren and Audrina all lined up. (That was a test, any true Hills fan knows Heidi was in a full out feud with her best girls.) Pratt pulled the plug and her big wedding dreams came screeching to a Hollywood halt. Even if you're a Heidi hater, it was painful to watch.

As Heidi became Spidey, she put her big wedding dreams on hold. She ran off to elope with Pratt in a private ceremony on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Now she's married and her dad didn't get to walk her down the aisle. Actually, Heidi isn't even technically married. The ceremony isn't legal in the United States, according to an article by the Huffington Post. Note to brides: if you're getting married outside of the United States, check the country's registry requirements. Spidey didn't have a signed license, so she's calling it a "symbolic ceremony" (aka publicity stunt). Whatever it's called, it worked. MTV plans to feature the ceremony on the Hills and will continue to follow the couple's married life "to see how it plays out." The couple doesn't plan to have a real, legal ceremony in the States anytime soon.

Inspired by Spidey's spur-of-the-moment elopement? Check out the license requirements before you run off to tie the knot. And take a look at WeddingStand's expansive collection of bridesmaid gifts and wedding favors for destination weddings.
