Famous for her bubbly personality and coining the term "Yummers," chef Rachel Ray recently saved the day for 33 couples. If you're not a fan of the celebrity chef, this article from the Houston Chronicle might change your tune. Rachel Ray hosted a fairytale winter wedding for 33 couples at Minute Maid Park on November 2.
The Houston couples planned to celebrate their nuptials at Bella Terraza near the Galleria or the Tuscany in Garden Oaks. When both venues claimed bankruptcy in mid-September following Hurricane Ike, the couples lost their deposits and their wedding dreams were swept away. According to the article, brides forfeited thousands of dollars in deposits. Some paid as much as $20,000.
"It was a tragic, awful story," Ray said. "We tried to replace a bad experience with a really beautiful memory."
