It may have taken five seasons, but all the waiting was worth it. The darling TV couple- Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) from The Office - will make it official this evening. We thought we'd never see the day. To celebrate the occasion, we're presenting the top five must-see TV weddings, plus a preview of the ceremony airing tonight.
Jim and Pam's Wedding Preview
From the unique cinematography to the uncanny directing, The Office built a wide fan base on the appealing notion of a show about real life. If you haven't followed Jim and Pam's road to the altar, it all began with the Season 2 final when the best friends finally locked lips. Loyal viewers were on the edge of their seats. Since then, the 'Dunder Mifflin' couple has had to deal with sticky love triangles, work anxieties, even conflicts associated with long-distance relationships.
The special wedding day Office will be an hour-long episode at the show's usual time of 8:00 pm this Thursday evening. For more details about Pam and Jim's big wedding episode, visit their official wedding website devoted entirely to the commencement.
Carla and Turk
On May 4, 2004 Carla (Judy Reyes) and Turk (Donald Faison) consummated their relationship on Scrubs. In vintage Scrubs style, Carla and Turk's reception is halted because Turk is forced to stay late in the operating room. Wedding plans are ruined by the surgery extensions, sending the episode into turmoil. At the end, Carla and Turk aren't married, but find themselves caring for a Catholic priest who happily steps up to the plate when he's told of their botched wedding plans. The rest is television history.
Luka and Abby
When Luka (Goran Visnjic) and Abby (Maura Tierney) were married on May 3, 2007, it was the conclusion of one of the longest suffering romances in sitcom history. The busy doctors on the hit series 'ER' were married in a simple affair planned out by Luka to surprise Abby and avoid the stresses from all the extra time needed to plan out the wedding.
Ross Gellar x 3
When Friends got started, no one would've guessed geeky Ross (David Schwimmer) would go through not one, not two, but three marriages over the course of the show. Much of the earlier episodes centered on Ross' first failed marriage with Carol. Ross made a second attempt at marriage when he wed Emily in a candle-lit ceremony in London. Who could forget that wedding? He said the wrong name during the vows! Finally, his marriage to Rachel in Las Vegas in the final years' of the show made Ross officially thrice divorced and defeated.
Luke and Laura
Who doesn't know of the original supercouple from the American soap opera "General Hospital?" To say that Luke (Anthony Green) and Laura's (Genie Francie) relationship started off on rocky ground is an understatement. Luckily, things got better from there and the couple's wedding aired November 16, 1981 and is the highest rated soap opera episode to date.
Will and Grace
This New York wedding was one for the storybooks. The questions surrounding Grace (Debra Messing) getting married were answered November 4th in 2002 when she walked down the aisle with doctor and boyfriend Leo (Harry Connick Jr.). Jack (Sean Hayes) and Karen (Megan Mullaly) were in attendance, and of course, so was her best friend Will (Erick McCormack). This Central Park wedding took our breath away.
